I bought this house three years ago there’s a large woods in back of it including partial wetlands. I got a certified letter on Friday that there is a proposal on the table to build 214 apartments on this property. I assume they have a plan to get around the wetlands thing. I went to the municipality today and they couldent tell me if it’s low income or senior citizen. What are the common ways to fight this? I don’t have 500hr for a attorney. There’s going to be a formal hearing on the 15th. This is in new jersey if that helps.

Obama’s letters for Rezko
NOT A FAVOR? | As a state senator, he went to bat for now-indicted developer’s deal

As a state senator, Barack Obama wrote letters to city and state officials supporting his political patron Tony Rezko’s successful bid to get more than million from taxpayers to build apartments for senior citizens.

The deal included 5,000 in development fees for Rezko and his partner, Allison S. Davis, Obama’s former boss, according to records from the project, which was four blocks outside Obama’s state Senate district.

According to Obama, Rezko did not ask him to write the letters, he wrote them so the development would be built. What do you believe?

Why isn’t Obama up front with the American people on his 20 year friendship and his dealings with property developer and political fixer Antoin Rezko?

I live in a small community (only 10 apartments) the apartments are for disabled people and senior citizens. There is one neighbor that always disturbs the peace. I have told my landlord about this. When my neighbors family comes that is when the disturbance starts. I can always tell when her family visits all of their cars have mufflers and her family drives like they are in an auto race. When her family talks they are shouting. I can hear them in my apartment.

My lease says there should be no disturbance that disrupts the enjoyment of the community and failure to obey these rules can result in termination of the lease. I have told my landlord about the loud neighbor over and over. I even called a police officer on her. The landlord says none of the other residents have complained. I said maybe it's because they are older and can't hear as well. Nothing has been done as of yet.

Does anyone know what I can do to get this problem resolved??

my grandma lives an hour away she use to live near but my aunt moved her over there. my aunt takes all her monthly money….she ALSO gets free money for ''supposedly'' taking care of her…she had a woman and child living at my grandmas house and paying my aunt…taking advantage of my grandma…..and my grandma even lives in senior citizen apartments…how can i report my aunt and have my grandma have a good worker ,,,,she also did this to my other grandma and now shes dead..my grandma sometimes doesnt even have food to eat…or electricity thanks to her taking alllll her check..i live in la.california and my grandma lives in montclair california

My grandma lives in a senior citizen apartment complex. Her next door neighbor, a 70-80 year old man commited suicide. He shot himself :(
New tenents have just moved in.

I have 2 questions:

1) Is the apartment owner obligated to tell the new tenents that someone has died in the apartment, or that someone has commited suicide?

2) My grandma is friends with the manager, she told my grandma that there was a lot of blood everywhere. Well the apartments didnt have the carpet changed. The only shampooed them and they only painted over the walls, they didnt wash them. Is this right?

As for me, if i moved in to a new place and found all this info out i would want to be transfered to a new unit.

i know when you are buying a house they are required to disclose this information, is it the same with an apartment?

A commercial out of St Louis advertises a retirement community. Why do they call it a campus it is just a place of senior citizen apartments and homes?

Some desert communities reach 120 degrees in the summer sun & many people living on a fixed income cannot afford the energy bills to cool their homes/apartments.

Central California has set up cooling centers when the temp hits 105 degrees. It's a place where seniors can stay in an air conditioned room & avoid heat stroke….for free.

Does your town have them & what do you think about this idea?

what are the pros and cons of senior citizen communities or apartments? How are they different from regular apartment living?
Can other family members of the senior citizen desiring a residence in a senior citizen community be allowed to live with the senior citizen?
or is it strictly senior citizens only?

lol..Mr edd…my mother has 2 bathrooms and 1 bedroom…lol
in the apartments most people are 60yrs and upwards…they really do have fun if they want to…or quiet times in there own space
When i say Retirement Flats…the only difference is that they have the emergency buttons inall the rooms and a onboard carer..on the outside you wouldnt know they were just for the retired…its not like a retirement home
right ok…pretend your 90yrs old …isnt it better than an old folks home
if your a couple its ok thinking its best to live alone ..but when your patner dies and you have no family or friends left near you..its a very sorry life…i moved my mother a long way to live near me in one of those flats…because i lived with her and i missed my family its been a struggle for 10 months…now she loves it and wishes when dad was alive they had did it together

rental houses or apartments

I'm trying to find communities that are for seniors only (55+) where people can buy actual homes – not apartments or mobile homes. Does anyone know of any? Thanks!
