I’m only 20 years old lol, but here are mine:

1) I remember when I was around 3 or 4 I had these wooden blocks with letters of the alphabet on each one, and I was stacking them in a tower. I had put more than one of them in my mouth lol!

2) I think when I was around 4 or 5, I was walking around our apartment and my father would watch this TV show called "News Hour with Jim Lehrer", and every day they would have coverage of the Bosnian War. I remember one day I glanced at the TV and there were these Bosnian Muslims walking away from their homes on these train tracks, because the Serbs had destroyed them.

3) I remember my first day of Pre-Kindergarten when I was 5 or 6. I kept on crying all day, and kicking and screaming, because I felt that my mother had abandoned me. I even hid under the chair when the whole class had to sit in a circle, and I just remember everyone staring at me.

losing home cause property has been sold. and im a senior citizen, looking to share apartment with also , have low income and can’t aford a lot

I recently I decided to re-paint a dresser, I was spray painting it behind my apartment where there is an empty parking space besides mine. I was in the middle of my big space, far away from her car when the next door neighbor came out to ask me what was I doing? As if I was bothering her. I politely told her that I'll be done soon and will take my dresser inside. Well, I must have been too polite, because now, she left a note on my windshield telling me to be considerate when parking.
My only guess is – as a senior citizen – she might believe it is unconsiderate of me to park at a regular speed, rather than inch my way into my parking space. I admit, the day before I parked a little faster than usual, because there were cars behind me. So what if I park in a hurry, it is my parking space and I did not hit her fancy car. Not even close!!
I want to knock on her door and ask her for feed back – What does she mean by considerate? Why can't this senior citizen live and let others live?
Thanks everyone
Yall are so helpful
FUNKY — FYI, my friends consider me the nicest person to senior citizens and I'm in my early 30s, however, some unhappy people don't take the time to get to know others – they make a judgment too quickly.

Ok , we live in a senior citizen / handicap apartment , and the building is responsible for snow and ice removal . Anyway , nothing has really been done to remove the snow and ice from where we walk to our car , and this past Monday I slipped and took a real hard fall , me head hit so hard on the ice , that it bounced and hit again . Ever since the accident I have been having what feels like a small electric impulse in my lower back , followed by severe pain in my left lage that often goes to my feet .I also have pains like this in my upper back and arms ..Could I have injured a disk ..And can I sue for pain and suffering ..

There is a senior citizen owner of a dulplex house who is renting out, but requires you to provide 2 ID's such as SS card and Birth Certificate. I wouldn't mind doing this for a real company, apartment complex, or real estate agent, but just a guy renting his home…?

Does he have such a right to request that I provide him with those documents even though he's not a leasing agent from a company–just an old guy? They are personal!

I live in a small community (only 10 apartments) the apartments are for disabled people and senior citizens. There is one neighbor that always disturbs the peace. I have told my landlord about this. When my neighbors family comes that is when the disturbance starts. I can always tell when her family visits all of their cars have mufflers and her family drives like they are in an auto race. When her family talks they are shouting. I can hear them in my apartment.

My lease says there should be no disturbance that disrupts the enjoyment of the community and failure to obey these rules can result in termination of the lease. I have told my landlord about the loud neighbor over and over. I even called a police officer on her. The landlord says none of the other residents have complained. I said maybe it's because they are older and can't hear as well. Nothing has been done as of yet.

Does anyone know what I can do to get this problem resolved??

I have heard that in some of the casinos in Las Vegas you can actually live in an apartment inside the Hotel/casino on the strip. Ive heard that alot of the big casinos on the strip have like residential floors where you can live and enjoy the ammenties of the hotel. Is this just for senior citizens or can anybody do this. Thanks!!!

I live in a senior citizen high rise and I am being harassment by the president of the Tenant Council. He had the office manager and a police just come into my apartment and seach it, just to see if I had someone living with me. Is that right? He keep writing letters to the office with that same accusation. None of which is true.

I'm need assistnace in applying for section 8. This is for a senior citizen. He is currently receiving social secuirty benefits (peanuts). He has gone to Social Services and they told him he is elligible for assistance but he needs to attain an apartment first. WHICH of course, he can't do without the assistnace. It's a No Win situation and I want to help him. Please help me – where do I get started?
Thanks

I just got this little 2 1/2 year old girl and I am feeding 1/2 cup of Purina dog food twice a day. I am a senior citizen living in an apartment. I walk her twice a day so would say her exercise is moderate.

Does this sound like a reasonable diet for her?

would you look for a mate, move in with a male, move in with a female, move in with family, find another person and the both of you look for an apartment together, move into someone's place or have them move into yours, move into a seniors home, look for HUD housing, or other alternative? Which would your best choice be and why.

looking for a one bed room low encome apartment for senior citizen in my area.

Grandmother went through many chemotherapy after cancer surgery, is diabetic, has arthritis, and has defribriator attached to her heart. But she can walk, cook and do daily chores herself with some difficulty. She resides by herself in a senior citizen only apartment in Southern California. I am afraid if she has a heart attack or something, she might just die with no one around to call 911 or help her. What should I do? What would you do?

Im here in Southern California. We have a tenant that works for Section 8 for many years. He and the owner have literally HIDING housing problems here. We have Seniors and Disabled people. THEY ARE AFRAID OF HER AND AN EVICTION. She has a history of these tactics.

I spoke to this guy and asked him WHY DOESN'T HE HELP THESE PEOPLE HERE AND REPORT THE FILTH AND TOXICS FROM MOLD AND PESTICIDE SPRAY.
He's such as A Hole, He says it's not his responsibility etc. He says his unit is not Section 8, but I dont' believe him . He has a girlfriend and two kids living in there.
One I went in there and OH MY GOD… A REAL HORRIBLE PLACE. She does not work and NEVER BRINGS HER KIDS OUT EXCEPT TO INTO THE CAR TO 'SOMETIMES' TAKE THEM TO SCHOOL.

This situation here is BAD, I waitng to get my new Section 8 Voucher to move, and I can't rent another place without it.
THIS GUY HAS BEEN THE CORE OF A LOT OF THESE SLUM HOUSING CONDITIONS, BECAUSE HE WONT EVEN REPORT HER FOR HIS "TOXIC DUMP APT. not even for the sake of his kids.

How do I find out if IN FACT his unit is a Section 8 Unit. He acts as a conduit for this owner to lure elderly and disabled people into this building. THEY DID IT TO ME… AND WHEN I FOUND ALL OF THIS HELL THAT HAS MADE ME SICK……..I CALLED THE LAHD, they literally make a big deal and gave her violations… but she fixed NOTHING. Yet they tell me they closed the case ????

Meanwhile, this guy girlfriend has a grandmother that lived in another Section 8 apartment that has been EMPTY since I moved in. All the furniture is staged and windows open. She told me her grandmother has been in a NURSING HOME FOR OVER 2 YEARS, AND THE OWNER HAS BEEN COLLECTING SECTION 8 RENT via her boyfrend that works with Section 8.

HE HAS BEEN GETTING HER SECTION 8 VOUCHER RENEWED WITH HIS SUPERVISORS EVERY YEARS SO THE OWNER CAN GET THE MONEY. HIS SUPERVISOR AND CO-WORKERS ARE ALL IN ON THIS FRAUD.

RIGHT NOW THEY ARE HOLD UP MY NEW SECTION 8 VOUCHER SO I CAN MOVE BECAUSE I MADE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE CONDITIONS HERE, AS WELL AS REPORT HER ALLEGED FRAUD.

Is there ANY WAY to find out if his apartment (in his girlfriend's name) is IN FACT a Section 8 Rental. THEY BOTH TOLD ME THEY HAVE BEEN BEHIND WITH THEIR RENT, BUT WORKED OUT SOMETHING WITH THE OWNER………….THIS ALL SOUNDS OF BLACKMAIL, FRAUD.

Send me any Attorney or Activist that can legally help fix this mess… AND NOT ON THE TAKE WITH HUD OR SECTION 8.
The Section 8 fraud Dept. has done NOTHING but take the complaint.
THE MOLD AND SEWER PROBLEMS ARE WORSE.

I'm currently in the process of getting a new place but didn't want to be out of a lot of money either. Is there any other things i could do to get a discount off my rent like senior citizen discount, become an employee for the apartment complex, and etc.

Need an apartment for adults only – not senior citizen – but adult only.

I want to move from st pete florida to Naperville il because my family is there. I have no money. I am waiting for HUD housing for handicapped seniors they will call me within 6 months and I have 30 days to take the apartment. Any one know of a program to help me get my things there. I am using a wheelchair scooter and i have a small service dog. we will fly there and then need transport to the apt from the airport ty

i live in a hud over 62 building and I have a service animal. the manager has sent a memo saying that no other resident can babysit for my dog in their apartment. Is she legally allowed to do this? Can she say no pets in a senior HUD buiding. anyone know where I can get a copy of the law that applies

I live in an apartment with an elderly (70) mom who is home bound and a 6 yr old, so looking for suggestions on a small to medium-sized gentle and sensitive dog that would be good for companionship to both.

what is the best way to find an apartment for my elderly mother? she is retired and wants to live in an apt. alone. does anyone reccomend any websites?

A few years ago I tried to apply to get into a senior citizens apartment complex, but was told that I had to be 65 to apply. So I waited. then when I became age eligible and went to re-apply, I was informed that there was a 10 year waiting list! It's like a Catch -22. How does one get into senior housing under those circumstances??
